Paula Abdul, born June 19, 1962, is a well-known dancer, choreographer, musician and actress. She got her start in the industry as a Los Angeles Lakers cheerleader, eventually working her way up to lead choreographer for the squad.

Her routines caught the eye of the Jackson family and Paula was selected to choreograph routines for Janet Jackson.

Not long after that, she was signed to Virgin Records. She released her first album, Forever Your Girl, in 1988.
